Avalon Hill Brings Newness from Elizabeth Hargrave, Joe Manganiello, and More

Get ready for our most impressive Gen Con line up yet.

From expansions to exclusive reveals, this year we’re bringing it all to the table.

You’re going to want to hang out with Avalon Hill at Gen Con this year—trust us. We partnered up with powerhouse designer Elizabeth Hargrave on a brand-new title coming in 2026, and we’ve got three words for you: play it first.

Inspired by the real-life beaches of Sanibel Island, Florida, Hargrave’s latest game, Sanibel, captures the beauty and serenity of shell collecting. You’ll walk along the shore, gather shells, and strategically place them in your bag. It’s tranquil tile-placement that can be as strategic as you’d like it to be.

With stunning watercolor art featuring shells you might really find in the sands of the real Sanibel Island, this game is an approachable play experience for everyone with just the right amount of depth. Sounds great, right? As if that wasn’t enough, you’ll be one of the first to play it ever.

Sanibel launches in early 2026, but we’ll be running sessions of it exclusively at Gen Con. Play it pre-launch, so you can brag about playing it pre-launch.

Did we mention Elizabeth Hargrave will be there? Yeah. Just so we’re clear: exclusive pre-launch play sessions, a chance to meet the designer, bragging rights for you, and guaranteed FOMO for your friends. All at booth 501 in Hall E.

But wait… there’s more! We’ll also be running sessions of Joe Manganiello’s epic new HeroQuest expansion, Crypt of Perpetual Darkness.

If you’re more sci-fi than fantasy, hop in your pre-owned space cruiser and snap some photos of the cosmos in the newly released Cosmolancer, a galactic reimagining of Reiner Knizia’s Kingdoms

Maybe you’re not sci-fi nor fantasy, but a secret third thing… eldritch horror, perhaps? Great news–we’ve got that too. The new Betrayal expansion, The Evil of Pennywise, ratchets up the terror of the classic by plunging you into the grim world of It: Chapter Two.

Plus a one-versus-many Talisman expansion, visits from Eric Lang (Life in Reterra) and more! Not to be all “you won’t want to miss it” but… you won’t want to miss it. Stop by booth 501 in Hall E. Sign up to play here.
