Meet Our Gen Con 2025 Featured Artists

The annual Gen Con Art Show highlights the incredible talent and creativity of artists from the fantasy, sci-fi, comic, and gaming genres and beyond.

This year, we are excited to highlight the exceptional work of Tran Nguyen, Mark Tedin, and Scott Fischer. Get to know these remarkable individuals, marvel at their captivating creations, and visit their exhibits during Gen Con, from July 31 to August 3.

Tran Nguyen

Tran Nguyen is a Vietnamese freelance artist best known for her book illustrations and fine art, which focus on figurative art, nature, and the intricacies of the human condition. Her work is traditionally painted with acrylics and colored pencils on watercolor paper, and it possesses an air of fantasy and surrealism.

She has collaborated with clients such as Penguin Random House, Disney, Wizards of the Coast, Marvel Comics, and Smithsonian magazine to bring their stories to life. More of her work can be found at www.mynameistran.com

Mark Tedin (pronounced “ta-DEEN”)

Growing up in the sublime locale of Sitka, Alaska, Mark had dreams of flying saucers and epic landscapes, and as a result, he rarely put his pencil down.

After furthering his art studies at Gonzaga University and Washington University in St. Louis, he heard the call from a friend to do some work for Wizards of the Coast, drawing and painting an endless array of fanciful creatures and characters, both as a freelance illustrator and staff concept artist.

These past thirty-three years, it has been, and still is, a dream come true for him: drawing strange creatures and environments and making a living from them. View more of Mark’s work at www.marktedin.com

Scott Fischer

Scott M. Fischer, a Savannah College of Art and Design honors graduate, has made a name in fantasy and gaming art, contributing to Magic: The Gathering, Dungeons & Dragons, World of Warcraft, and League of Legends. He has worked as a conceptual character designer for Microsoft and Disney’s TRON franchise and is a regular cover artist for Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, and Angel & Faith (Dark Horse Comics).

His silhouette work appears in the #1 NY Times bestseller Peter Pan in Scarlet and Between the Lines. As a notable cover artist, he has worked with major publishers like Simon & Schuster, Tor, HarperCollins, Scholastic, and Random House. His illustrated middle-grade fiction credits include Magisterium (Cassandra Clare & Holly Black), The Secrets of Dripping Fang, Scary School, and Ghost Prison.

Fischer’s children’s book credits include Jump! (over 3 million copies sold), Twinkle, and the Lottie Paris series. A core faculty member at the Illustration Master Class and SmArt School, he is also represented by Wentworth Galleries. He is a leading “Rock and Roll” artist, exhibiting at festivals like Monsters of Rock. View more of Scott’s work at www.scottmfischer.com
