In just under two weeks, Gen Con returns to Indy with The Best Four Days in Gaming™! The Block Party you know and love will once again take place at the new location on South Street. The new home of Block Party is just south of the convention center, on South Street, with convenient access from the Indiana Convention Center (ICC) and Lucas Oil Stadium (LOS) connector.

Enjoy cold beer, wine, iced coffees, burgers, pizza, food trucks, and more delicious eats, all in an even bigger event space, now featuring cooling misters, more shade and seating, and easy access to the stadium, where you can dine indoors with refreshing air conditioning and free WiFi.

Sun King Beer Garden and Roll 4 Initiative Release Party

Decades of great beers, fun games, and good times have been had with Sun King as the Official Beer Sponsor of Gen Con. To create a signature beer for the 2024 convention, Sun King turned to thirsty gamers and social media fans to choose the official beer style to be tapped at the annual Gen Con Block Party.  

This past spring, thousands of Gen Con and Sun King Brewery followers voted, and with nearly 1,300 votes cast, comprising a whopping 42% of all votes, a cinnamon cereal-inspired ale was the winning selection! 

Sun King Beer is excited to release Cinnamon Roll 4 Initiative on Wednesday, July 31, during the South Street Gen Con Block Party kick-off! This year’s official beer of Gen Con will be available during Sun King Beer Garden hours at the Block Party on South Street, at all Sun King tap room locations for carry-out, and at various eateries and bars throughout Indy for the duration of The Best Four Days in Gaming™.

Tapping Party: Wednesday, 5 pm – 10 pm   

Daily Schedule: Thursday – Saturday, noon – 10 pm 

Cinnamon Roll 4 Initiative Beer Release Party 

Join us on Wednesday evening at 5 pm on South Street for the release of Cinnamon Roll 4 Initiative, the official beer of Gen Con 2024! Cinnamon Roll 4 Initiative is a tasty, spicy cinnamon cereal-inspired ale brewed with lactose for the full breakfast experience.  

Sun King To-Go 

Attendees 21+ can purchase beer to-go from the Sun King Brewery Beer Garden on South Street. Note: To-go purchases may not be consumed in the Beer Garden. 

Daniel’s Vineyard

Visit the Daniel’s Vineyard tent to swirl, sip, and savor the Official Wine Sponsor of Gen Con 2024’s exclusive blends. Back by popular demand, Dragon Dew will be available in convenient chilled cans. This sweet white wine with notes of citrus, lime, and orange packs a punch of flavor and has been a fan favorite since its debut in 2022.

Also making a return is Code Red Rosé, a refreshing, chilled, sweet rosé with a bright flavor. To round out this year’s selection, Daniel’s will be offering delicious wine slushies, perfect for chilling out and toasting summer fun at Gen Con.  

You can purchase wines online to pick up at Daniel’s Booth at Block Party, or ship directly to your house after the convention. 

Critical Hit Soda 

Gen Con is excited to host Critical Hit Soda again as our Official Mocktail Sponsor! Stop by the Critical Hit Soda truck during Block Party and try any one of their exotic concoctions. With 100 unique flavors, you will find that perfect alchemical combination to complete your victory.

When hunger strikes, gamers know to hit the HotBox Pizza tent on South Street to refuel! Treat your taste buds with this year’s official Gen Con pizza – The Critical Chip! 

The Critical Chip packs a punch with the savory mashup of a zesty taco night and the classic craving for a cheesy pizza pie. It features salsa verde, fiesta corn with beans, mozzarella, and jalapeños and delivers a knockout hit with a ranch drizzle topping and crushed Doritos®. This ultimate prizefighting is only available at Gen Con 2024, so stop by the tent or the downtown location during the event to enjoy it. So, head to South Street and claim a champion slice of The Critical Chip at the HotBox Pizza tent all weekend! 

This year’s official pizza was invented by contest winner Scott W. from Columbus, Ohio, and will be available exclusively from HotBox Pizza during Gen Con 2024. 

Harry & Izzy’s 

Stop by the Harry & Izzy’s tent to re-fresh and feast on the Official Gen Con Burger, the Pickled Goblin! This tasty Angus steakburger patty is seasoned with their signature St. Elmo Seasoning and topped with American cheese, crispy pickle chips, bacon ranch, and served on a golden brioche bun.

At the tent, you can also enjoy other specialty burgers, world-famous fiery shrimp cocktail, crispy tots, and refreshing drinks, including soda and water. See you there!
